“I’m originally from the Netherlands and moved to Australia in 2009 with my wife. We traded a fast-paced professional life for a slower, more intentional lifestyle and now love spending our time close to nature, exploring new places through road trips, camping and travel, and creating thoughtful, character-filled spaces.
We are a family and live on the property with our children and elderly Kelpie, so you may occasionally hear the sounds of family life or the odd bark, though the cottage and its outdoor spaces still feel peaceful and private.
We are especially drawn to natural homes, off-grid living and tiny houses. Hosting Muckleford Forest Cottage is a chance to share a place we genuinely love — simple, peaceful and surrounded by the beauty of this corner of Central Victoria.
I usually welcome guests in person on arrival, share a few local tips and, if needed, a few pointers for the pizza oven. After that, I leave guests to enjoy the space, privacy and quiet of the place, and I’m nearby if anything is needed.”
